Shark Tale seurailee elokuvan juonta tarkkaan, mutta lupaa tuoda siihen lisää sisältöä. Pelissä lähdetään suurisuisen fisun hahmossa vedenalaiselle matkalle läpi Reef City -kaupungin.

Pelissä on neljä erilaista pelitilaa. Pelin varsinaisessa tarinatilassa (Adventuressa) Oscar pakoilee paikallisia roistokaloja. Race & Chasessa puikkelehditaan vauhdilla tyrmäävien 3D-ympäristöjen halki. Stealthissa uidaan vaikeasti päästäviin syvänteisiin, mutta lupaavimmalta kuulostaa Dance-tila, joka on mahdollisuus heilutella pyrstöä hiphop-biittien tahtiin.

Pelin ääniraidalla kuullaan elokuvan huippubiisejä, joista vastaavat esimerkiksi Outkast ja Bob Marley sekä mahtava MC Hammer biisillään "Can't Touch This". Se toimii aina. Varsinkin nyt kuin kala vedessä.
