Best Left Buried is SoulMuppet's first big game, developed by Zachary Cox and Ben Brown, thrusting players into a horrifying subterranean world of terrifying monsters and cryptic puzzles. Those who survive long enough to return to the surface are forever changed by the experience, becoming as ruined as the dungeons themselves.
Death in the Darkness In Best Left Buried: Deeper, players take the role of Cryptdiggers; human vermin attempting to extract as much wealth from the subterranean realm as possible. At the behest of callous and uncaring paymasters, companies of Cryptdiggers venture into cyclopean ruins, facing down unknown horrors and vicious traps.
The book contains a rules-lite system that puts emphasis on creating a blood-curdling environment rather than bogging GMs down in the minutiae of rules. As SoulMuppet's first system, the game is supported by a richly detailed setting and a variety of modules from many different creators, which can be easily stitched together into a long campaign.
